11/01/10: midterm elections, 2010

On this week’s show, we cover the voter initiatives on the California ballot.

We take a tour of neighborhoods in Los Angeles to ask people what they think of the propositions and we visit the Coalition for Clean Air to talk about Props 23 and 26. For some sonic relief, we visit the altares at Hollywood Forever Cemetery for El Día de los Muertos.

You can read official information about the ballot measures and candidate at the California Secretary of State’s website. You can locate your polling place in Los Angeles by clicking here.

Listen to the whole show on kpfk.org.

We give a shout out this week to any of you listeners who are musicians or composers who want to offer Hear in the City some of your creativity for theme music for the show. Send us a link to a sample of your work and your email address by posting a comment.
